Shoegnome Open Template v26.2 for Archicad 26

I didn’t mean to update the template today. I intended to spend the morning preparing for a design meeting for the project I talked about in my existing conditions video. But then James Murray shared some cool GDL wizardry which made me look at Surfaces in my template, leading to me seeing an index number issue in my template. No big deal. Most people don’t care about index numbers, but I do. And it bothered me. So I decided to fix that error. Then I found a second. Then I decided to update one or two other items. Suddenly the list was in the double digits and I accepted that today is a template update day.

None of the changes are earth shattering. I fixed some errors, improved usability and organization, added some Fills I need for element creation, and updated all my rim joist Complex Profiles to have adjustable sheathing. The Find & Select criteria set will be nice for model checking when I’m reviewing schedules (it’s intended to make it easy to select all the casements or awnings, etc.). The Property Manager changes hide unnecessary items (though they are still all there) and reorder a few things to hopefully make Archicad Properties easier and more clear to the typical user.

That’s all for now. Below are links to the template and the official list of changes. If you’re curious about what James shared, keep an eye on Onland.info. I have no idea if he’ll post today’s GDL creation there, but I never miss an opportunity to promote his Archicad blog. Sorry to be cryptic. I really don’t like being mysterious but… let’s do it some more! This is the last blog post of 2022. Lot’s of great stuff planned for 2023. I expect big template improvements, great projects to share, new YouTube videos, online and in person lectures, and much more.
