Help me make June 2013 “Guest Blogger Month”

You up for a challenge?

Pushing+Boulders+Together

I’d like to make June 2013 Guest Blogger Month. Interested in helping me? If you are a regular reader, you might know that there are some big changes afoot in my life. After eight wonderful years in Minnesota, my wife, daughters, and I are moving on. We’ll spend the next two years moving every six months or so for my wife’s new job. The details are all a little hazy. It’ll probably all be in the United States, but maybe not. Stay tuned for lots of last minute details.

For most of June it looks like we’ll be traveling to see family in Wyoming and Texas before heading to Connecticut and finally Boston, Massachusetts-which is where we’ll be for at least the rest of 2013. If you want to talk ArchiCAD, BIM, or the future of Architecture and are in any of those locations, let me know. Maybe we can connect. During June 2013 we’ll be living out of hotels and the homes of our family and closest friends. A month worth of visits and a month worth of no childcare means a month with little to no time for writing. I doubt I’ll be able to NOT write. And I’m going to attempt to get a bunch of posts ready for publishing; but there’s a lot to do in the next few weeks, so that’s probably not going to happen. (Case in point, I didn’t have time today to write the post I wanted to about SketchUp 2013).

Guest Blogger Month: Attempt 1

So here’s the deal. I want to keep fresh content coming on the blog while I’m technically homeless and on vacation. I’ll have time (or make time by not sleeping) to review, edit, and post, just not enough time to write. I’m going to reach out to my previous guest bloggers and the smattering of people who’ve offered in the past. What topics am I looking for? Well anything that fits within the blog… ArchiCAD, BIM, being an architect, architecture and technology, how two important software programs compare, etc. I’m open.

Do you have the guts to step up and share your thoughts? Here’s your opportunity to get read by a lot of people. Send me an e-mail with your ideas, or a fully written post if we’ve talked in the past. I’m hoping we can pull this off, because I think this would be a fun event for every time I need to relocate over the next few years. And I would REALLY love to regularly have more guest bloggers anyways.

Whether you want to guest blog for me or not, follow Shoegnome on Facebook and Twitter. The RSS feed is a great way to never miss anything either. One more thing. If you’re a fan of Shoegnome, take a moment and review the site on Alexa.com. Thanks!

BONUS NOTE: What does this all mean for the future of Shoegnome? Just like when I quit my day job, only good things. More, more, more. But I’ll save all the details for a post on the other side of the move, once I’m settled and have a clearer sense of the future. Stay tuned. You know by liking, following, and subscribing (hint, hint, hint, see above).
