Onward towards 1,000

I’ll use Post 300 as an opportunity to look ahead to the coming year.

I’ll be honest. I want to hit 1,000 followers on Facebook, Twitter, or Youtube this year. And then 1,000 on the remaining two in 2014. It’s not going to be easy. As of January 2nd, 2013, I was at 557, 466, and 300 respectively. To reach that target, it’ll mean a LOT of content generation this year. Some topics will be familiar to regular blog followers (ArchiCAD and BIM). Others will test out different directions: more general Architecture and Design thoughts, posts about my experiences as a Generation Y intern and now architect, maybe stuff that has nothing directly to do with my profession and other things that put me out of my comfort zone. It’s a little intimidating but I’m going to (somehow) get some of that published other places as well, both online and offline.

Why 1,000?

Because it’s a cool number, and from the vantage point of a few hundred likes it feels like a huge number. It’s a personal challenge and it’ll keep me motivated and working hard. Bizarre and meaningless to everyone but me personal challenges are something that crop up regularly in my life. I’ll shortly write a post about my favorite ‘Roommate Test of Manhood’ from college. Don’t worry, it’s actually extremely relevant to some of the major themes on the blog from 2012. You might want to follow me on Facebook or Twitter to make sure you don’t miss it.
