Morph Pet Palette Madness

While doing some experimentation on an ArchiCAD 15 file that I’d opened in ArchiCAD 16, I came across a weird quark with the Morph Tool. The pet palette for the Morph Tool wasn’t showing me all the options. I was bewildered and annoyed. I wasn’t sure what was going on and I just wanted ArchiCAD to work the way I knew it should. I was pissed. Fortunately I did what you should always do when you have an ArchiCAD problem. I searched the forum. Turns out the solution is easy, if you know what’s going on. So here’s a video explaining the situation, using a model I built for LABhaus:

Additional Context!

Here are two other good, quick Morph Tool videos from Graphisoft. These both talk about different aspects and functionalities of the Morph tool. So while my video explains how to fix the issue of not seeing all the pet palette options, these videos show why it matters that there is the ability to hide or unhide Morph Geometry via Design menu/ Modify Morph/ Hidden Morph Geometry.

And a Teaser…

What exactly was I doing when I came across this issue with Hidden Morph Geometry? I was turning objects into Morphs to create images for a future post that will show up on a different blog. Yeah the second half of 2012 is going to get REALLY interesting. More on that very soon.

Jared, I have thoroughly looked forward to your blogs over the last year or so. Very informative and the logic you use to solve issues is transferable to many other glitches.
Good to see you are joining forces with BIMES.
    Cheers and thanks
