BIM Components and the ArchiCAD Facebook Page (and Pacifiers)

Today ArchiCAD posted a comment on their facebook page:

Do you have object ideas to expand the available GDL content on BIMcomponents.com? Let us know in a comment here! Some of your wishes will be programmed by professional GDL developers and shared with all of you through the BIMcomponents.com portal. We are looking for objects that cannot be found in the standard ArchiCAD library. Just comment with a concise description of your wish to give your dream object a chance!

Take a moment, jump over to facebook and add your comment. And remember these guys are professionals using GDL, so give them something complex to tackle. Like… I don’t know, something with lots of options and features. Here’s the link to ArchiCAD’s Facebook page. If it’s not the first post, look back to July 23rd. While you’re there, take a moment to also like Shoegnome on Facebook (if you already have, THANK YOU!) If you’d rather leave a comment here, I’ll add it to Facebook for you. I’m happy either way. I just want to see BIMcomponents.com get some great new content.

I’m trying to think of some ideas myself, but I am coming up blank. Which isn’t surprising since yesterday was my 3 1/2 year old daughter’s first day without a pacifier, ever. We’re almost 36 hours into moving beyond her love affair with those green pacifiers, a love that dates back to a few minutes after she was born. Oh and she decided it was time to start potty training again. Can’t say no to that when I’m helping her be a big girl and not need her favorite comfort. So… I’m a little tired and focused elsewhere.

Here’s Madeleine at about 7 1/2 months. This girl loves her pacifiers.

Someday I’ll explain why I modeled this Pacifier in ArchiCAD. It’s on the TO DO list.

BONUS!

I’ve commented with AC versions 12, 13, 14 and 15 in the GS Forum. Most responses were… “I can’t believe GS hasn’t fixed it or made this work…”

Karl Ottenstein was one of the responders…
