ArchiCAD 16! BOOM!

Goodbye BIM, hello BEM.

Have you read the press release yet? ArchiCAD 16 is coming! It’s officially going to be released on May 30th, 2012 and then start shipping shortly after that. If I remember correctly from other recent releases that means we should be able to download ArchiCAD 16 from www.myarchicad.com sometime during the first or second week of June. I can’t wait!

2012 is when we all start talking about Building Energy Modeling.

Built-in Energy Evaluation, integrated web-portal for sharing BIM components, a new free-form modeling tool (MORPH) that will make the Shell tool feel like yesterday’s jam… PLUS all the other tweaks, revisions, and additions to the program. I have a strong feeling ArchiCAD 16 is going to be the best upgrade of any BIM platform in 2012.

What do you think?

What feature are you most excited about? Honestly for me it’s a tie between the consolidated window and door parts and the improved 3D editing capabilities. But then again I have a feeling the web-portal might be the big winner. I don’t know. But I’m excited to find out!

I lack words to describe how awesome this Video is:
