On Land: Thanks for the Inspiration.

When I started this blog, I looked to one place for inspiration: James Murray’s www.onland.info.

Last week James left a comment on my blog. Much like when I got comments from Finith Jernigan and Link Ellis, I was super excited and honored. It’s nice to know many of my ArchiCAD and BIM heroes are aware of what I’m doing. In his comment, James included a link to a blog post he wrote a few years ago on how to create custom windows. As with most of his blog posts, it’s clear, concise, and super helpful. Once you’ve read it and my tutorial on stained glass, you’ll be able to model any window.

Here’s James’ tutorial on window making.

Back in October of 2010 I wrote about a few other great posts from Onland. For ease of viewing, here are the revised highlights from that post:

BUT… if you only have time for one blog besides Shoegnome, Onland.info is the granddaddy of ArchiCAD blogs. James might not post that often, but there’s a huge backlog to sift through. And everything he writes is great. As proof, this post pretty much writes the book on composite wall priorities. And this post on fixing wall corners with columns is just pure genius. And reading this is how I learned to use the Interior Elevation tool.
