I love working in the BIM environment and helping other architects work in a smarter, more efficient manner. I started using ArchiCAD in 2006, founded the Minnesota ArchiCAD Usergroup in 2009, and began blogging about ArchiCAD in 2010. I'm always looking for guest bloggers who also want to share their experiences with ArchiCAD and BIM.

Compatibility notes to ArchiCAD on Mac OSX Lion

Kind of important if you’re using any version of ArchiCAD and getting excited about Lion (or have already installed it). Read it. Now:

No more using any version of ArchiCAD older than version 10 if you go to Lion (Mac OS 10.7). Good to know for all those 8.1 and 6.5 files I occasionally need to open. If you don’t have ArchiCAD 10, remember to install the file converters so you are prepared.

    Hi Jared

Been reading your blog for some time now. Great to see. I come from that area, went to school there, bought my first AC 4.5 there and now am on 12 here in green bay. have a small commercial/residential firm. question is upgrades and fear of losing countless hours of previous work. MAC user and constant cost of upgrades is tough with all the other adobe software. Versions i have were 4, 5, 7, 9 to 12 and dongles for such.

Who out there can give me best advice to convert up to lion if I need to. I am in the midst of a project. Are you the new AC rep there as I am trying to recall teh gentleman I bought from in St paul. Do you serve WI.
    Ideas on finding AC draftspeople???
    thanks, Marc
