Old Files in need of opening?

December must have been the month of old files. I’ve had a few people ask me about opening up ancient projects. If you want to open a file from before v8.1 and only have v14 installed (I’m pretty sure even v11 can’t open anything older), there is a solution. You can download a free file converter that is an updated pre-installed older version of ArchiCAD. With the file converters you can open up files as old as v4.1 (which means files from 1991) and save them up to a version that the latest releases can open. You can learn more and download the file converters here.

Now finding a computer that can read the floppy discs and zip drives those early 1990’s projects are saved on… you’re on your own for that!

    Hi Jared,

Sometime last year (2015) you posted a link to a free version of Archicad 10 available for download to facilitate conversions of older AC files up to current versions. I have tried to find your post and the link but can not find it anywhere. Is the download still available?

I know this is posted in a very old section of your website but hope you pick it up anyhow.
