Split, who knew?
The split command (cmd + opt + I is my keyboard shortcut, the button looks like a little red axe) works for walls, slabs, meshes, roofs, beams, fills, lines, polylines, splines, arcs/circles, and zones. Why did I just learn this today? I thought it was just for 2D objects. Good to know.

Just holding down Cmd/Apple key also will “split” and as another “adjust” 2d and 3d elements

Cmd/Apple won’t leave both halves though.

Sounds like you are talking about the “Adjust” command which I have setup the keyboard shortcut of Apple+- whereas with the Cmd / Apple key does split an element and leaves both halves of the split element.

Interesting. It sounds like we have our keyboard shortcuts reversed, but are talking about the same two functions. What version are you on?
